In MADE BY HAND’s second film, we meet writer turned knife maker Joel Bukiewicz of Cut Brooklyn. He talks about the human element of craft, and the potential for a skill to mature into an art. And in sharing his story, he alights on the real meaning of handmade—a movement whose riches are measured in people, not cash.

I have just returned from a four day Forum in Prague which is aimed at putting industry professionals, experts, and suppliers together. This is such a great way to do business! Meeting like minded people who want to work together, means that you can very quickly achieve so much in just a few days… Whatever you need, there it is in front of you. Everyone we met was helpful and enthusiastic about their product, or profession and I came home feeling that I have found so many people that I will definitely enjoy working with.

Attending a forum in Prague, rather than being here in the UK means that you really engage with the members. The ‘out time’, i.e. networking during coffee breaks and dinner, means that you get to know those attending, and I am certain that we all prefer to work with people we like.

Prague as a city is delightful, a treasure trove of wonderful architecture with a surprise around every corner. Sitting on a river boat, in the sun looking at a spectacular view must be a good way to work…. Well done DP Events.
